Easter, or the resurrection of Christ, is celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon of spring – no earlier than March 22nd, no later than April 25th. In the modern world, Easter is celebrated for two days: Easter Sunday and the next day – Easter Monday. Both days are public holidays. The egg, which used to have the meaning of life and fertility, became the symbol of a new life and a new covenant in Christianity. In Germany, eggs were blessed from the 4th century, and even then they were painted in different colors, mainly red. Another symbol for German Easter is the Easter bunny. It is also borrowed from ancient Germanic cults and is widely believed to carry holiday eggs. On the eve of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ, the rabbit hides from the children in the grass, in the garden, in the forest Easter eggs, which the children eagerly look for after the holidays, to the delight of their parents.
